OIL & GREASE

Over time, oil and grease can build up when silicone cookware is used at high temperatures. Even with regular hand washings, this sticky residue can become unsightly and odorous. But, no worries—you can bring your steamers back to life with the following tips:

  • Use grease-cutting liquid dish soap and a non-abrasive scrubbing brush (like your Silicone Sponge)

  • Rinse the silicone cookware and if there’s a sticky residue, use baking soda and pour it over the surface. Gently scrub the baking soda into the surface to create a paste

  • Allow the paste to dry for a few hours and then rinse the cookware with soap, using a non-abrasive brush

  • Rinse well with soap and warm water and dry on your Roll-Up Rack

FOOD ODORS

To eliminate food odors absorbed by your cookware, add 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 a sliced lemon to your steamer. Cover and microwave on high for 1-2 minutes. Let stand for 1 minute, then scrub well with the lemon slice. Rinse well.

WHITE FILM

Over time a white film (spots) can form on your silicone cookware — this is from Calcium Sulfate, minerals that adhere to the surface when cleaned in hard water. Vinegar is the trick here:

Simply soak the silicone in a solution of one part vinegar to one part dish gentle soap. Then add water to dilute. Soak for 20 minutes or longer and repeat as necessary.
